During Advocacy in Craft Brewing: Best Practices for 'Brewing Change' in Communities, a collection of applied social scientists will present examples of, and lessons for, 'brewing' socio-environmental change in local communities. Defining advocacy broadly as the ways breweries support economic, environmental, or cultural causes, or otherwise promote equity or social justice, these subject experts will discuss the array of advocacy breweries pursue as well as the dimensions and patterns of such advocacy in the United States.

Panelists will demonstrate how breweries can build stronger local communities and forge deeper connections to place, co-constituting the economic and cultural landscapes they inhabit.

The program is funded by a PDA Special Crop Block Grant ME# C940000781.

This Program is a partnership with Texas State University, Penn State Extension, and Penn State Continuing Education.

This event is being offered at no charge to participants.
