Penn State Extension Re-launches the PA Farm Finder with Agritourism Farms Added

A new tool for Pennsylvanians that want to spend more fun time outdoors and source their food locally.

Pennsylvanians looking to spend more fun time outdoors while sourcing their food locally have a new tool to use. The PA Farm Finder is an online farmers market, farm attraction, and agritourism experience map.

First developed by PA Farm Markets, and with support from Penn State Extension and the Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development, the PA Farm Finder now also helps to connect local families and individuals with nearby agritourism activities to enjoy.

Pennsylvania is home to over 700 farms that feature agritourism. Many farms have reported a very successful Pick Your Own season this year. The Fall season of pumpkin patches and corn mazes – which will provide plenty of opportunities to socially distance and have fun outdoors - is just around the corner.

Visitors that want to travel to local farms are encouraged to first check these business's websites and social media pages to learn what type of safety precautions are in place and to get information on how to prepare for a visit.

Agritourism operators who are not yet featured on the map can contact Brian Moyer with their contact information (location, website and activities offered): bfm3@psu.edu
