Penn State Grant Recipient to Study Energy Market Structures and Wind Generation

Project will look at wholesale energy market structures and how to provide power system operation efficiency.

The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation has awarded Chiaro Lo Prete, assistant professor of energy economics at Penn State's College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, a $250,000 grant. This grant will cover research on the effectiveness of energy market structures in aggregating private information on wind production forecasts.Ā
