Penn State START Lab Awarded $6M for Modernizing Energy Infrastructure

Penn State's START Lab works with DOE-NETL and industry partners to provide a modern turbine design to be used by several organization for designing higher-efficiency engines.

The Penn State Steady Thermal Aero Research Turbine (START) Lab was awarded $6 million in developing a National Experimental Turbine (NExT) rig, working to help modernize the nation's energy infrastructure. The goal of this project is providing a turbine design that can be utilized by many industries and lead to higher-efficiency engines.
