Prevent Spotted Lanternfly From Spreading: A Checklist for Travelers

This invasive and destructive pest threatens Pennsylvania's agricultural commodities and trade, has a healthy appetite for our plants, and can be a significant nuisance to our quality of life and enjoyment of the outdoors. Use this checklist to help stop the invasion!

Before you travel or move anything:

  • Check your vehicle and any items that have been stored outdoors
  • Remove all stages of spotted lanternfly

Inspect your vehicle and all items and destroy any spotted lanternflies you find.

Whether you are traveling within or from the current quarantined area, do your part to stop this invader! Check
all vehicles and items you are moving.

  • Inside doors and hatches

Boxes and objects

Outdoor and garden items

  • Garden tools
  • Lawn mowers
  • Grills
  • Firewood
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Pop-up tents
  • Camping equipment
  • Plant containers
  • Dog houses, rabbit sheds, chicken coops, etc.
  • Yard decorations
  • Bicycles
  • Playhouses
  • Any other items that have been stored outdoors
