Private Pesticide Applicator Short Course in Spanish

Penn State Extension is partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) to provide pre-exam private pesticide applicator training in Spanish.

Penn State Extension educators Maria Gorgo and Carlos Quesada will teach a Private Pesticide Applicator Short Course in Spanish on December 4th to 5th, 2019, at the Penn State Fruit Research and Extension Center (FREC), 290 University Drive, Biglerville, PA. With support from a PDA Specialty Crop Block Grant, the Spanish version of the national core manual and the 2-day training course will be provided at no charge. The Adams County Fruit Grower Association's Agricultural Human Resource Management Committee will cover the cost of meals.

This free course is a tremendous learning opportunity for those involved or interested in spray operations.

A private applicator certification exam will be offered at FREC on Thursday, December 19th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The exam is free but will be in English. Throughout the 2 days of the short course, participants will have practice sessions on taking the exam.
