A grazier from Northwest Pennsylvania uses 73 different plant species in a continuous no-tillage system to improve soil health and farm productivity

A case study of soil restoration using intensive rotational grazing, permanent no-tillage, and animal and forage diversity. Because of these practices, Russ Wilson was able to extend the grazing season to 10 months per year in a region with a growing season of 5 months. Stocking rate increased from 2.88 to 0.96 Acres per animal unit while fertilizer costs decreased from $26,000 to less than $1000.

Who is this for?

Farmers interested in advanced grazing practices and how to integrate them in no-till systems.

What will you learn?

How a farmer has been able to improve his soils, his production, and reduce his costs by implementing innovative grazing management
